He has passed eight securities industry examinations: Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination), which he obtained on August 27, 1996; Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination), which he obtained on September 21, 1990; SIE (Securities Industry Essentials Examination), which he obtained on October 1, 2018; Series 31 (Futures Managed Funds Examination), which he obtained on October 31, 2001; Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination), which he obtained on December 17, 1988; Series 6 (Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination), which he obtained on November 12, 1987; Series 22 (Direct Participation Programs Representative Examination), which he obtained on December 18, 1984; and Series 24 (General Securities Principal Examination), which he obtained on September 29, 1992. He is currently not registered as a broker with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, he has received one customer complaint, one pending customer complaint, and one customer complaint that was withdrawn.

In December 2018 a customer alleged Ronald Carson, while employed at Cetera Advisor Networks, and while acting through CWM, an investment adviser he owned, negotiated with certain product sponsors which were not affiliated with the adviser to charge CWM clients lower fees than non-CWM clients, and “improperly notified” one such sponsor that the customer in question was not a CWM client any longer, resulting in the customer receiving higher charges in the form of that sponsor’s standard fees as opposed to its “lower negotiated rate.” The customer is seeking $500,000 in damages in the pending complaint.

In 2004 a customer alleged Ronald Carson, while employed at Linsco/Private Ledger Corporation, recommended unsuitable mutual fund investments which were not properly diversified. The customer sought $20,000 in damages in the complaint, which was withdrawn.

In 2002 a customer alleged Ronald Carson, while employed at Linsco/Private Ledger Corporation, breached his fiduciary duty, acted negligently, recommended unsuitable investments, misrepresented material facts, and breached contract. The complaint resulted in an award to the customer of $50,000.
